All is Revealed to the Laborer

Kalihi Valley, 1971. Working under the sun, ten feet into the ground, I looked up to see the soil itself radiant and dancing with colors, the air shimmering and excited , an unasked for gift of perception on the level of the molecule with a sharp, piercing joy lasting but a second. It comes as no surprise that this unsayable event occurred deep in the surrounds of earth and that I can do nothing but wonder and praise.
