Icarus, who did not Fall
Acrylic on Canvas
26x24 in
For three millennia he has flown above the earth, over desert and tropics, equator and poles, a witness to everything there is to see. He is old now, and all, excepting the animals, are concerned only with themselves and pay him no mind. Just as do the tragic, little miracles happen every day while we are mowing the lawn or checking our networks. He cannot land, but I think he would like to and become just another of us again. (The old myth I found discouraging. Shoot for the sun, but remain a human being).
